Pigment raises $145 million round in rare French tech megaround

Paris-based startup Pigment has achieved a significant milestone in its journey, securing a remarkable $145 million funding round just five years after its inception. This achievement is particularly notable in the French tech ecosystem, where large funding rounds have been relatively scarce in recent years.

Pigment stands out in the landscape by offering a comprehensive business planning platform designed to empower large companies to visualize their financial performance history and forecast future quarters with precision. With a client roster boasting renowned names like Unilever, Datadog, Kayak, and Merck, Pigment has demonstrated exceptional growth, tripling its revenue and doubling its customer base in 2023 alone, with half of its clients based in the U.S.

Led by existing investor Iconiq Growth, the Series D funding round saw participation from prominent backers such as Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners, IVP, Meritech, Greenoaks, and Felix Capital, reaffirming confidence in Pigment’s vision and potential. The rapid success and promising trajectory of the startup prompted investors to offer favorable terms for an internal round, reflecting the market’s eagerness to support Pigment’s expansion plans.

Co-founded by Éléonore Crespo, with a background in venture capital and Google, and Romain Niccoli, a co-founder of Criteo, Pigment has emerged as a top player in the SaaS space. The platform offers flexible business planning tools tailored for chief financial officers, finance teams, sales teams, and HR teams, enabling seamless collaboration and data-driven decision-making.

With a focus on enhancing cross-team collaboration and user experience, Pigment has incorporated AI features to streamline data analysis and reporting. By leveraging natural language processing capabilities, users can effortlessly query Pigment AI for insights and actionable intelligence, elevating the platform’s utility and accessibility.

Pigment’s commitment to innovation and customer-centric product development has positioned it as a formidable contender in the enterprise software market. As the company continues to expand its reach and refine its offerings, it remains dedicated to delivering unparalleled value and driving transformative outcomes for its clients.
