Orb, a modern billing platform, has raised $25 million in a Series B round led by Mayfield, with participation from Menlo Ventures, Greylock Partners, and other investors. The funding brings Orb’s total capital to $44.1 million, supporting the company’s mission to reshape billing infrastructure for AI-powered software.
With the rise of AI, traditional seat-based billing models are being replaced by usage and outcome-based pricing. Orb’s platform enables businesses to adopt these flexible pricing strategies without diverting engineering resources from product innovation.
CEO and co-founder Alvaro Morales emphasized that Orb’s billing infrastructure empowers businesses to monetize next-gen AI software effectively, allowing companies to align pricing with delivered value.
Since its Series A in 2023, Orb has tripled its customer base, onboarding companies like Vercel, Pinecone, and Perplexity. Mayfield partner Sri Pangulur highlighted the importance of Orb’s flexible billing in an AI-first world, enabling companies to experiment with pricing models that reflect the unique value of their solutions.
Orb’s platform is designed for complex pricing models, with an API and integrations that support finance and sales teams in driving growth. Pinecone’s Director of Finance, Ifat Villaret, praised Orb’s flexibility, helping them adapt billing to match their evolving AI infrastructure.
