MagicSchool AI, a Denver, CO-based technology platform for K-12 educators and students, has raised $15 million in Series A funding.
The funding round was led by Bain Capital Ventures, with additional investments from Adobe Ventures, Common Sense Media, and notable angel investors such as Replit founder Amjad Masad, Clever co-founders Tyler Bosmeny and Rafael Garcia, and OutSchool co-founder Amir Nathoo.
MagicSchool AI plans to use the funds to develop more AI applications in education, expanding the tools available to teachers and students, and increasing its team size. The company will enhance its product, building on existing capabilities such as generating lesson plans, classroom activities, rubrics, and personalized instruction.
Led by CEO and Founder Adeel Khan, MagicSchool AI is a generative AI platform specifically designed for responsible use in educational settings. MagicSchool for Teachers offers over 50 tools to assist with tasks like quiz generation, text leveling, lesson planning, and word problem creation. MagicSchool for Students aims to build AI literacy among students.
The platform is used by over 2 million educators through partnerships with more than 3,500 schools and districts worldwide. Notable partners include Atlanta Public Schools, Aurora Public Schools, Seattle Public Schools, High Tech High, Choate Rosemary Hall, KIPP Chicago Public Schools, and Sidwell Friends.
