Intramotev Raises $14.4 Million in Series A Round

Intramotev, a technology company that specializes in building battery-electric railcar retrofits, announced today that it has successfully completed a Series A funding round, raising $14.4 million. The funding round was oversubscribed and led by Flybridge Capital Partners and Alpaca VC, with participation from other investors including Advantage Capital, Aera VC, Band VC, Cantos, Cathcart Rail, Collide Capital, Decisive Point, and Idealab Arizona.

Intramotev is dedicated to revolutionizing modern freight movement by developing battery-electric, self-propelled rail solutions that reduce costs, enhance usage and safety, and support environmental sustainability.

Tim Luchini, CEO of Intramotev, stated, “This funding enables us to further deploy our technology to customers in the US and internationally, ushering in a new era of growth for the rail industry. Repeatedly, our customers have expressed their desire for freight solutions that do not compromise on efficiency, speed, or flexibility. TugVolt and ReVolt fulfill these requirements.”

Intramotev’s retrofitted solutions open up new opportunities for customers to expand their rail capacity, save on fuel costs, and reduce their carbon footprint.

Jon Brown, VP of Business Development and Capital at Iron Senergy, remarked, “Many suppliers make promises to simplify your work, but Intramotev delivers on its promises. The Intramotev team put in tremendous effort to ensure the successful implementation of their technology at our mine, and we are extremely satisfied with the results.

After covering 5,000 miles with their ReVolt train, we are excited to continue collaborating with Intramotev to drive innovation in mining.”
Intramotev stands out as the only supplier of self-propelled railcars with units in active revenue service worldwide.

Currently in use at Iron Senergy’s Cumberland Mine, Intramotev will soon roll out an additional deployment at a calcium mine owned by Carmeuse Americas later this year.
